Let the pictures do the talking?

Rob Whitrow has 30 plus years’ experience as an on-location photographer shooting stills.

An image should speak for itself. So why write about the photographer? It’s worth sharing a little about Rob to help build a picture of how his experience ensures that the “voice” of the imagery is true to the brief.

Capturing the right images is something that Rob endeavours to make look effortless, however, meeting a brief whilst bringing something extra is a practiced skill. When done well, it’s a positive process that explores what is possible, taking the direct route when appropriate but also seeking new ways of articulating the visual memo that every picture sends.

“Gracious, quite frilly language for a snapper, wouldn’t you say?” – fear not, Rob is a straightforward, practical individual who makes this all happen without fuss or ceremony.

What do you want when working with a photographer? Creativity, certainly, but to arrive at the right shots requires empathy for both the subject and viewer of the images. Rob’s years of experience working in every imaginable scenario has taught him how to relate to each subject and guide the shoot to the right result without being overbearing or precious.

Essential too, is professionalism. What does professionalism mean? Rob has the confidence and savvy to work to an objective, manage time and talk through the options with you. He can help shape the brief, establish the key requirements and set out what needs to happen to get the job done – whatever level of input you need, Rob will be able to contribute positively.

"I had the pleasure of working with Rob who was recommended to me by one of the most successful restaurateurs in London.

I have worked with many other excellent professional photographers, however I found Rob to have qualities that set him a level above that. In addition, for me, a thorough understanding of the Food & Beverage industry is an added bonus”

Alexandre Santamaria - Brand Director Ling Ling Global at Hakkasan Group

"I cannot recommend Rob highly enough! I’ve used Rob a few times now and sometimes in difficult places to shoot, but he is a consummate professional and has blown me and the client away every time!

I would have no doubt that his work stands as some of the best food photography I have ever seen. If you need photos doing for your business or brand I suggest going to Rob first!!"
